It only makes sense to play some John Pizzarelli today...

Posted by Sean Dennis

Since the Pizzarelli family will be in town to play at the Grove Park Inn this weekend. But, I have to confess I only own one John Pizzarelli album on vinyl. Nonetheless, here is what I'll be spinning on today's show.

- John Pizzarelli - "I'm Hip (Please Don't Tell My Father)" (Stash ST226)

- Craig Hundley Trio - 'Arrival of a Young Giant" (World Pacific WPS-21880)

- Jimmy Mosher Quartet - "A Chick from Chelsea" (Discovery DS-860)

- Ken Nordine - "The Best of Word Jazz Vol. 3" (Dot DLP 25880)

- Chris Columbo Quintette - "Jazz Rediscovered" (Strand  SL 1044)

- Kenny Burrell - "Blue Moods" (Prestige PR 7308).. thanks Jonathan Price for letting me borrow this.

Listen in today starting at 4 pm Eastern time at http://www.ashevillefm.org/stream/afm-stream-hi.m3u

I like your title because there is always a reason to listen to jazz, happy, unhappy, with energy, low down... I will listen to the tunes you propose.
If you want to listen to live jazz, have a look on my blog, I try to list the best jazz clubs in the world :-). Why best ? Because of the atmosphere, the way musicians are welcome, the program...
Thank you from Belgium (Europe)
