Sandi was one of the founders of WNC Woman magazine with Julie Parker and Sandra Grace in 2002. Since 2010 she has been the sole publisher and editor of the magazine each month with the help of many dedicated women writers, copy editors, photographers, and a team of loyal delivery folks all over WNC.
Before her involvement with the magazine, Sandi was owner of The Natural Home downtown Asheville (originally started with her friend Sharon DeYoung) from 1995 to 2004; prior to that she owned Native Expressions clothing shop, also downtown, from 1991 till 1997. Prior to that she was in graduate school in Chapel Hill working on her Master's in Political Science. She is married (for 38 years!) to Sam Sutker, has two grown children and three grandkids. She lives in Madison County and gardens and kayaks in her spare time!
