John Mahshie of Hendersonville, NC is the Founder and Executive Director of Veterans Healing Farm. He is a veteran of the US Air Force where he was an AGE mechanic and also served in the Honor Guard. John has a strong entrepreneurial spirit which lead him to own and operate five different businesses in three years. Attending the EBV at Florida State University in 2013 was a trans-formative experience giving him the resources, mentoring, and encouragement to excel in his business pursuits. Also in 2013 John founded the Veterans Healing Farm out of a deep desire for community. The Veterans Healing Farm is a 10 acre sustainable farm which boasts a diverse variety of crops and 100 active farm members.

Veterans Healing Farm is located in Hendersonville, NC. We help empower veterans reintegrating into civilian life by growing produce, raising farm animals, and conducting seminars on holistic health and sustainability. Additionally, we foster a thriving micro-community of veterans and civilians who build deep friendships, implement innovative gardening techniques, and help cultivate emotional, physical, and spiritual health. This year we grew and donated over 8,000lbs of fresh produce free of charge to veterans at the Asheville, VA Hospital.

Growing up in Detroit, a combination of Motown, folk, jazz and blues and classical that shaped her musical world. She learned guitar and began to sing at local coffeehouses, college campuses and public television. Jane has recorded and co-produced five solo recordings. Her latest release,“Road To Dreamland - Unexpected Lullabies for All Ages,” (2016), reflects her passion for lullabies. As a long-time teacher of Transcendental Meditation, Jane’s music also strives to bring a calming influence to her listeners. She was awarded an honorary Ph.D. for her work in helping to establish the Quiet Time Program, which through the David Lynch Foundation has taught TM to over 100,000 school children all over the world.

On November 20th, Jane will perform with a delightful collective of local musicians at the Altamont Theatre for a fundraiser with the theme ‘Songs From the Heart’ for Jaron Rosser, who is on the waiting list for a heart transplant. Jaron is the son of local musician/producer Chris Rosser and his wife Lynn Rosser, author and founder of ‘The Complete Caregiver’.
