Friends and Eyes

I met a friend for coffee this morning and we started off talking about Seattle and then ended the conversation with the topic of chiggers. The topic path went like this: rain, clouds, Seattle, Seasonal Affective Disorder, Palm Springs, Iowa, bats, ticks and then chiggers.

I'm telling you about my morning conversation because my show on March 15 had a bit of a ramble like that, though I maintained a level of control and focus to keep you from going insane. I really don't want you to go insane.

I've had a really crazy month. I had to get my car up to state inspection, I've been blind as a bat due to a bad eye exam and a stubborn optometrist and an assistant who was too scared of the optometrist to challenge her and so the assistant kept ordering different types of lenses instead of scheduling me with another optometrist (or ophthalmologist, whatever she was). Basically, I got trapped in some sort of inter-office political BS and walked around blind for two months. My docile acceptance of all that crap ties into my show a few weeks ago about standing up for yourself.

It's all good now except I'm out 400 bucks for new lenses, courtesy of another............Aw, Hell, who cares? I'm tired of telling that story. I've told it over and over again to explain to people why I'm squinting and running into things.

I also talked about an old friend of mine, just because I wanted to....and because I'm tired of the annoyances of the past month. I just want to remember fun times and move on to more of them in the future. Cheers. I hope you enjoy my show.
