We are always on the lookout for new volunteers with great ideas and an interest in community radio.
Our goal is to find volunteers who want to be involved with the station and with the Asheville community as a whole. It is very important to know that at its heart, Asheville FM isn’t just a radio station, it is a service to our community. We are always looking for people who are interested in participating in this very important aspect of the station.

All new volunteer prospects (or just curious looky-loos!) are invited to attend an information session to learn more about the station We hold Info Sessions on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the station. Email welcome@ashevillefm.org to RSVP!
So, you wanna be a DJ?
To become a DJ at Asheville FM, you must first be an active volunteer in any one of the many departments here at the station. Asheville FM provides on-air training to it’s volunteers and allows DJs in training to shadow experienced on-air personalities as part of the learning experience. The exciting last step in the Asheville FM DJ training course is hosting your own episode of the Sandbox Hour or Night School. Once your training has been completed, you can become a DJ here at Asheville FM. A minimum number of volunteer hours are required before you can apply to host your own show. We revamp the broadcast schedule twice a year.
Different ways to help.
We have many needs and many ways for you to help. Some people want to help only occasionally (for instance, during our fund drives) and some want to be more involved.
