I spoke with Olivia Newton-John and her husband John Easterling, aka Amazon John, about their efforts to connect people with health, wellness and environmental sustainability. I was so nervous!! But, they are so nice. Plus, they truly care about people and the environment – and are doing their part to make the world a better place.
Olivia Newton-John is a film icon, Grammy award winner, wellness advocate and inspiring woman. I have been following her career since the first time I saw ”Grease”. In 2010, Olivia appeared in two episodes of the hit series, “Glee,” adding another Top 100 hit to her credits with a new version of “Physical” sung with Glee star, Jane Lynch. I love Olivia’s new healing CD, “Grace and Gratitude Renewed” with beautiful song “Help me to Heal.” Olivia spoke with Oprah in January 2011. I feel so lucky to chat with her now!
Amazon John is a rainforest explorer, eco-entrepreneur and visionary leader. He strongly believes in education and sustainability, and works to access and connect people to the healing power of the Amazon, while supporting a sustainable future for the rainforest and its inhabitants. Amazon Herb Company teamed up with the Amazon Center for Environmental Education and Research (ACEER) Foundation to bring teachers, environmental education and programs to children in rainforest villages. Their camu camu products below are grown sustainably on their organic farm in the Amazon floodplains.

Dear Dayna,
Thanks for sharing the information with your listeners.
It was great to see some folks from your station at Asheville Lovefest. I hope to see you at the Goat Parade! :-)

Hi Dayna!
I'd like to invite you to come to our Spindale Dairy Goat Festival May 20 & 21. Do you know that goats are a very green resource? We built an entire festival around dairy goats and goats in general for the intelligent, multi-purpose animals that they are.
Last year was our very first Goat Festival and it brought over 4,000 people to our town. Here's a video with some highlights from last year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9QmQOyrPA4&feature=related
This year we have live outdoor theater again plus music in 3 areas of the festival. This year most of the music is acoustic - it has such a cozy feel. On the Friday night we have a fun schedule that includes our Mayor kissing a gaot to open the Festival. We will have an open Appalachian jam, a fire and a drum circle.
On Saturday May 21st, the street will close down to traffic and fill with interesting vendors, mostly having U.S. Made goods. We encourage our vendores to have at least 80% U.S. Made items. We have to make a stand for our own jobs in this country.
Another part of our effort is our Heifer International fund rasiers. Last year, our children's group helped to raise enough money to send 11 dairy goats to needy familes around the world. This is in keeping with our motto of "Think globally. Acy locally. Make a difference."
I hope you will be able to attend and perhaps also help to spread the word. We are 100% community supported and are working very hard to cover the costs of hosting a festival and ADGA sanctioned Dairy Goat Show of this size.
Thanks for your time,
Beverly Kalinowski
