On today's Replacement Party we bid a fond farewell to LX Chitterlings, Alex Chilton, the Box Top, the Bach's Bottom, the Panther Burn, the Man Called Destruction, player of parking lots, and author/performer of many classic songs including, yes, "What's Your Sign, Girl?"

Selections from throughout his magnificently dottered career, including production work, cover songs, rarities, commonplaces, and commentaries both insightful and banal.

He did not need a license to drive in his car.

Tune in at 3 pm (note the half hour earlierness!). You'll laugh, you'll cry.

Also: Sad news upon us: Today's 2 - 3 pm hour is the last hour of the beloved Tuesday afternoon Chadderbox. Chad's life commitments are forcing him out of the DJ seat, sorry to say. A life of illegal reptile importation does not, it seems, suit a weekly DJ gig. Whatever.

Seriously we both hope you'll tune into his farewell extravaganza - it should be a pretty peculiar hour of radio.

Mardi Gras week on the Replacement Party - love is bloomin' all the time. First half hour of the show will be a lineup of the usual New Orleanian suspects.
