The Show Today

At 4p, this afternoon, we shall embark on another journey into the past, where records regularly spun, TV was actually good, and gas was a whole lot cheaper. On today's show, it's quite a lineup of great hits that I've pulled from the UT vaults. There's superstars, including Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks, Waylon, Buck Owens, and Ray Price. Bluegrass? Bill Monroe and Alison Krauss will fill that. As always, too, a few "forgotten songs" or as we like to call them, "almost hits", from the likes of Sonny James, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Juice Newton. Look for some classic album tracks from Kitty Wells, Charley Pride, and Nat Stuckey. And this weeks' show even has a local connection, as you'll hear a track from the late Fred Kirby from the Tweetsie Railroad and Charlotte radio and TV.
