Going to be a bit light with this recap post. Doing some traveling today. Regardless, today was a fantastic show. Check it out below:
[Fresh]Bedouine – Bedouine
I can’t get enough of this album. Bedouine’s glorious self-titled debut record is haunting with a minimal sound and powerful lyrics. Being born in Aleppo before moving to Saudi Arabia, she has a lot to draw from. Recorded at Richmond, Virginia’s Spacebomb studio, it shares the same vibes as Natalie Prass and Matthew E White. Bedouine is out now.
[Worth a Re-spin]Guantanamo Baywatch – Chest Crawl
I came for the name, I stayed for the awesome upbeat energetic garage surf rock sounds. It has all the charm and sounds of old surf rock, with the lyrics of modern indie music. Chest Crawl came out May 1, 2012.
[Look Out For]Four Tet – Planet Single
This chill single still gets your feet taping and butt grooving. Does this mean a follow up to 2013’s Beautiful Rewind? Only time will tell. You can grab the single on his Bandcamp.
[The Breaks]Moon Hooch – Moon Hooch
This awesome trio will be at the Asheville Music Hall Oct 25th. Should be a pretty fun show. Their hypnotic jazz gets your feet moving. Their album self-titled came out June 25th, 2013.
