It’s almost fall! There are a ton of awesome releases on the fall line up and one of the biggies is comes out Sept 1st. So we dedicated a whole show to it! It was a guessing game, so to keep things fun, we won’t reveal the answer until you scroll all the way down. So avoid scrolling if you want to try and figure it out! This show is super special because it is my first time collaborating with another person. DJ Alex Heisey of ‘there are no stars, only a skyline‘ took a bunch of records from my collection, and made an awesome mix! Though it may seem random, it is all some how connected. Listen below, and try and see if you can figure out how they are all connected before you scroll to the bottom. Apologies ahead of time for saying the wrong date!

[The Answer]LCD Soundsystem – Losing My Edge
That’s right! We are celebrating the return of LCD Soundsystem! American Dream is out this Friday and we did a show dedicated to LCD’s first single, Losing My Edge. In the song, James Murphy references many things from the early music scenes, showing that he is the king of cool. At the end of the song, Murphy talks about his record collection, and we pulled some of those artists he mentioned and did a mix with them. This has been done a few times before by others, but never-the-less it was still enjoyable to do. Do I have all those artists he mentioned on vinyl? Maybe. Maybe I am missing 4 or 5 artists that are a bit harder to find…. *cough*Index*cough*.
I mentioned Gavin Rossdale, LCD’s insanely talented synth and keyboardist, coming out as Transgender. In his interview with Into, he said touring would be a challenge, especially in states like North Carolina. So it’s no surprise that we are no dates in our fine state. But if you want to see them on their new album tour, you can catch them in Nashville Oct 20th and in Atlanta Oct 21st and 22nd.
I hope you enjoyed this set as much as I did. If you hated let me know and I won’t do any more of these guessing games. If you loved it, let me know and I’ll do much more! If you were luke warm, say eh, I can take it or leave, and maybe I’ll do some, maybe I won’t. If you want the mix without me interrupting, here is it!
