Moogfest is the synthesis of music, art and technology. Since 2004, Moogfest has brought together artists, futurist thinkers, inventors, entrepreneurs, designers, engineers, scientists and musicians. By day, Moogfest is a platform for conversation and experimentation. By night, Moogfest presents cutting-edge music in venues throughout the city. This mind-expanding conference attracts creative and technology enthusiasts for four days of participatory programming in Durham, North Carolina. Performing artists include early pioneers in electronic music, alongside pop and avant-garde experimentalists of today.
Heading up this year’s lineup are German post-techno pathfinders Mouse on Mars (two performances); R&B visionary Kelela; Boogie Down Productions cofounder KRS-One; and resurgent English producer Jon Hopkins (two performances). Joining them are industrial music iconoclast Author & Punisher; synth pioneer Suzanne Ciani; DJ Stingray, former DJ for legendary techno group Drexciya; electropop diva Little Boots (two performances); afrofuturist hip-hop duo Shabazz Palaces; Genesis P-Orridge’s experimental video and music ensemble Psychic TV; Bedroom Community founder Valgeir Sigurðsson with labelmate Liam Byrne; genre-defying Detroit producer Waajeed; and the apocalyptic vision of found-sound collagist Yves Tumor.
